Key Development Research Involvement
Over the last six years, we have been part of a team that has conducted over 2 national sample surveys, worked with a multiplicity of in-country partners, and provided survey technical assistance in Egypt before the recent ban on public opinion came into effect.
Worked collaboratively with Afrobarometer national partners at ArabBarometer, the Centre for Strategic Studies (University of Jordan), SIGMA Conseil, 121Polling and the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, to complete the surveys.
Since Round 5 (2011/2012) we have worked closely with 121Polling and the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics to design and draw nationally representative survey sample for Egypt. The samples are random, nationally representative, stratified, area-cluster probability sample of the adult (18 years and over) population across 27 Governorates and 2 Urban/Rural strata breakdown, with +/- 3% margin of error. The surveys were conducted in Arabic across the Governorates of Cairo, Alexandria, Port said, Suez, Damietta, Dakahlia, Al Sharqia, Qalyubia, Kafr el-Sheikh, Gharbia, Monufia, Beheira, Ismailia, Giza, Beni Suef, Faiyum, Minya, Asyut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Red Sea, Matruh, New Valley, North Sinai and South Sinai.
With input into quality assurance, we are honored to have directly contributed to the successful completion of over 2 national sample surveys in Egypt, including surveys in 2012, 2015 and as possibly in 2018 pending lifting the pan on public opinion polling.
