Part of a team of Afrobarometer resource persons from Uganda (Hatchile consult), South Africa (Institute of Justice and Reconciliation) and Cape Verde (AfroSondagem) that made an assessment visit to Luanda in early 2015 to explore the feasibility of conducting the Afrobarometer survey in Angola.
The team met 14 state and non-state actors, including foreign missions, with knowledge and experience in conducting national representative sample surveys in Angola covering a wide array of topics, including health, governance, democracy, education, finance, and census – among others. The presence of a new May 2014 census data and the presence of several stakeholders with keen interest in Afrobarometer data was seen as one of many positives for a survey such as the Afrobarometer in Angola, and it is hoped that such a survey would be conducted in the near future.
