The Afrobarometer Round 6 survey in Uganda was conducted between May 6 - 28, 2015 in 95 of the 112 districts, and covered 300 villages randomly selected across the country in proportion to the latest 2014 national population and household census. Results indicate that support for electoral reforms cuts across the political divide, as both opposition and ruling party supporters want reforms. In the run-up to the next presidential and parliamentary elections in Feb 2016. civil society, opposition political parties and government made a series of proposals to the electoral law. This survey shows that 89% could name at least one issue for reform ahead of 2016, and that majority preferred changes meant to strengthen electoral law, strengthen independence of the electoral commission and address issues with the voter register.
